RCN Trading was founded by people who understood one simple truth — businesses upgrading their IT infrastructure shouldn't have to write off the value of their old equipment. There was a better way, and we built a business around it.
For over 18 years we have been buying surplus IT equipment from businesses, data centres, IT departments, and MSPs across the UK. We started with a focus on Cisco networking hardware — which is where our name comes from — and have grown over the years to purchase a wide range of enterprise IT assets including servers, storage systems, computers, laptops, tablets, and Apple hardware.
We are based in Oxfordshire and operate nationwide, regularly collecting from London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Reading, Cambridge, and everywhere in between.

A lot of IT asset buyers will give you a high quote and then revise it downwards after collection once they've "assessed" the equipment. We don't do that. The price we agree before collection is the price you receive, every time, with no exceptions.

We monitor live resale markets daily to make sure our offers reflect genuine current demand. You're not getting a fixed price list from six months ago — you're getting today's market rate for your equipment.

From the moment you accept our offer we take care of everything — collection logistics, data wiping, asset de-tagging, and same-day payment by bank transfer. You don't need to organise anything. We do it all.

Data Security
Every device we purchase is processed using secure data destruction procedures. We take GDPR seriously and provide certified data wiping documentation on request.
Sustainability
We believe in keeping equipment in use for as long as possible. Every device we resell is one less piece of hardware going to landfill. For equipment that has no resale value we work with certified recycling partners to ensure responsible disposal.
Fair Dealing
We have built our reputation over 18 years on doing right by our clients. We don't chase volume at the expense of relationships — we'd rather give you a fair price and have you come back next time than overpromise and underdeliver.
We work exclusively with businesses — not individuals. Our clients include IT managers running hardware refresh cycles, MSPs decommissioning client equipment, data centre operators closing or downsizing facilities, finance and procurement teams disposing of surplus assets, and businesses of all sizes replacing ageing infrastructure.
